AI Won't Take Your Job—but Someone Who Knows How to Use It Might
“Artificial Intelligence won’t take your job, but someone who knows how to use AI might.”
This was one of many insightful takeaways from the ASU+GSV Summit in San Diego this week with Jeanelle Davis and Jeremy Smith. I think every AI company working in education on the planet was there, and we saw some cutting edge technology.
For example, in Google’s NotebookLM you can upload PPT slide decks, documents, and links to websites and it will create a short podcast that summarizes the key points…and it sounds just like two people in a back-and-forth banter. You can even interrupt them and ask a question and they’ll respond to it in a very natural way. It was both mind-blowing and a little scary at the same time.
This reminds me of the dawn of the Internet. Like it or not, it’s critical to understand the technology coming at us in order prepare our workforce and our students for its far-reaching implications and opportunities.
