89 Youth Ambassadors, 22 Languages, and One Remarkable Mission
Combined, this group speaks 22 languages and hails from 47 different states.
It's hard to describe how proud I am that the City of Fort Worth was chosen by the U.S. Department of State to host 89 of the finest young men and women in the country to train before they head to the World Expo USA Pavilion in Osaka, Japan next week.
They experienced the best of Fort Worth - The Fort Worth Herd, BBQ, line dancing at Billy Bob's Texas, the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, and Tex Mex at Los Vaqueros and Joe T. Garcia's. They learned lessons in leadership from Ambassador Tom Schieffer, Secretary Pete Geren, and NASA astronaut Anna Menon.
Seeing the next generation of our country's young ambassadors transform into citizen diplomats has been inspiring beyond words. We are so proud of them, and know they will represent the USA and Sister Cities International with pride during the Expo 2025 Osaka this year.
