Ambassador Tom Schieffer: A Statesman Who Makes Time for Young People

There are few true statesmen like Ambassador Tom Schieffer. He is a decorated Ambassador (not to mention one of the most effective in modern U.S. history), having served in both Japan and Australia. He's received the highest awards from the Japanese government, Australian government, FBI, CIA, NSA, U.S. Department of State, and countless other agencies and organizations.

He proudly claims the City of Fort Worth as his home, and always makes time to encourage young men and women to aspire to be public servants. Our Sister Cities International Youth Ambassadors still talk about the three hours (he was only scheduled for 45 minutes, but he skipped lunch and stayed) he spent with them before they left to live and work in Japan.
