Feeding the Deer in Nara, Japan

Nara, Japan is often overshadowed by Kyoto and Osaka, both located less than an hour away. Though it is a former capital of Japan (in the 700s), it has capitalized on a charm that few other major cities in the world have - the ability to interact with wildlife. Their protection and promotion of deer make it a remarkably fun experience for kids and adults. I had my moment yesterday.

Just don’t get distracted, especially if you’re holding deer food.
